Goals / Plans
Aside from the issues that the City faces, there are goals for the direction we want to see things go. Here are a few objectives we must tackle.

Troy's Identity
Growing up in Troy in the 80's and 90's; the City of Troy was known as a town of innovation. We were a bustling town, where the sky was the limit. This was where everyone wanted to be; businesses, industry and homeowners alike.
But times change and like anything, part of growing is the ability to recognize when it's time to adapt and reinvent yourself. Now is that time, we must identify the goals of this City and how best to achieve them for the future to continue to shine. I want Troy to be known once again as a town of innovation. A place where people want to be, and stay, knowing things are great and on track to only get better.
Prioritize Homeowners
It's no secret, Troy is a City that was built by homeowners. What was once farmland, has grown into mile after mile of single family homes. This is where people raise families, and many continue to stay here long after their children have grown. Even better, many of those children grew up, found their careers and then came back to the City. They then bought a home to raise their own family right where they grew up. That is a special connection that we as a City have with our residents that many places do not have. For that reason we must always place importance on single family homeowners and prioritize their needs over those who would only make Troy a stop along their journey of profiteering. Developers, builders and investors are important but it is it our families and homeowners that are the true backbone here.

Protecting Our Seniors
Troy has a very diverse community. This is not just in terms of race and religion, but across the age spectrum as well. I helped with both my Grandparents in this very city during their late years. I am aware of the many of the problems and concerns that the elderly have, and how they should be addressed. Our community has a duty to look out for everyone, especially giving the due attention to those who dedicated their lives to building this City.

Fiscal Responsibility
Going through the most recent budget we can see an upward trend in spending in a multitude of departments and categories. If these trends continue we will be hit with a major shortfall in the future resulting in a major sudden cutback on expenses or tax hikes. However, if we begin the process of examining outlays against actual needs and value we can trim the waste before it blows up in our face. I fully believe that Troy can achieve all of our capital needs and build new things WITHOUT new taxes or bonds, but by shoring up the way we spend the tax revenue we have now.
